Working in production
Passing bootcamp moves you to production: paid work on real project tasks. This page covers your role on the project, the tools each project provides, and how access works.
This applies to newer projectsThe setup described here applies to some of our newer projects. Other projects still use our legacy setup, where invitations come by email and resources are shared with you in Discord. If you're not sure which applies to you, your project team will let you know.
Your role on the project
In production you work under one or more assigned roles. Common roles include:
- Annotator, who completes the project's core tasks
- QA, who reviews and quality-checks completed work
- Other specialist roles such as auditor or trainer, depending on the project
Your active roles show as badges on your project card on the Projects page, next to the Production stage badge. The project team assigns and updates roles. If your role changes, your access to project tools is adjusted automatically.
Where to find your tools
Open Projects, select your project, and scroll to the Resources section. Each resource is listed with its type and a link. Select Open to launch it. (Documents shared securely show a View action instead.)
Available tools

Not every project uses every tool. Your Resources list shows exactly what applies to you.
How access works
Access is granted automatically based on your stage and role on the project. When you're confirmed, enter bootcamp, or move to production, the tools for that stage are provisioned for you, and when you leave a project, access is removed.
Nothing to requestAccess is provisioned for you automatically. You don't need to request anything.
Two tools need a one-time link on your side:
- Discord. You link your Discord account once during onboarding, and channel access is then handled automatically. If you haven't done this yet, see Connect your Discord account.
- SuperAnnotate. Your account setup runs through the platform; follow the instructions the project team provides.
If access is missing
Provisioning is automatic but not always instant, so allow some time after a stage change. If a tool still isn't available:
- For Discord channels, check that your Discord account is linked and verified. See Connect your Discord account.
- Confirm the resource appears in your project's Resources section. If it's not listed, it may not apply to your role or stage.
- Contact support or ask the project team, who can re-sync your access.
Where the work happens
You complete the tasks themselves in the project's work platform (for example SuperAnnotate), which you open from the Resources section above. The work happens in that platform, not on the SME Careers site.
What happens next
Your completed and approved work turns into earnings. Earnings explained covers how project hours and rates become money, and Weekly payouts covers when you get paid.
