Interview results and retakes
Read this after you've taken an AI interview, to understand how results work, when you can retake, and what the attempt limit means.
How your interview is evaluated
Once you finish, your interview enters review. Automated tools produce a summary and initial assessment, and human reviewers take part in the evaluation. Grading usually takes 1–2 business days. During this time your application shows Interview under review. You don't need to do anything, and you'll be notified once it's evaluated.
The possible outcomes
On your Applications page, each interview carries one of these statuses:

| Pending | You haven't taken the interview yet. Use Take Interview to start. |
| Under Review | Your interview has been submitted and is being evaluated. |
| Passed | You passed, and your application moves to Qualified for role. |
| Needs Retake | Your interview didn't meet the bar this time, but you can try again. Your application shows Retake available with a Retake Interview button. |
| Not Passed | Your interview wasn't successful for this role. |
| Incomplete | The interview didn't finish (for example, a technical problem, or fewer than three questions answered). An incomplete interview does not count toward your attempt limit, so you can start again. |
| Archived | The application is closed. See Understanding your application status. |
Retaking an interview
If your status is Retake available, you can take the interview again using the Retake Interview button. Before retaking:
- Review the job description and requirements again.
- Think about which answers you could strengthen with more specific, concrete examples from your experience.
- Make sure your setup (microphone, connection, quiet environment) is solid.
The attempt limit
Each job allows a limited number of interview attempts, typically 3. Every completed interview for that job counts as one attempt, whether it ends as Under Review, Passed, or Not Passed. When you've used them all, the interview button is no longer offered and you'll see: "You've used all your interview attempts for this role."
Incomplete interviews are freeAn Incomplete interview does not count toward your limit, so a technical problem won't cost you an attempt.
There's no required waiting period between attempts, but wait for your current result before retaking so you don't create duplicate records. Reaching the limit on one job doesn't affect other jobs. You can still apply and interview for other roles that match your expertise.
Why the interview button might be missing
If you don't see a Take Interview or Retake Interview button on an application, hover the info icon for the reason:
- "You're already qualified for this role — no further interview is needed."
- "Your interview is under review. You'll be notified once it's evaluated."
- "You've used all your interview attempts for this role."
- "This job is no longer available." The job was paused or closed.
What happens next
If you passed, your application becomes Qualified for role and our team takes over. See The screening process for what follows. If you have a retake available, prepare and try again. If the application was archived, focus on other open roles that fit your profile.
