Getting a Project

Where to find your invitations

Open Projects in the sidebar. Pending invitations are shown under Pending Invites as cards. Each card shows:

• The project name
• The hourly rate the project pays you, for example "Hourly rate: $25/hr"
• How long you have to respond, for example "Expires in 5 days" or "Expires today"

You'll also get an email when an invitation arrives, so keep an eye on your inbox.

Invitations expire

Every invitation has a deadline, set per project. If the card says "Expires today", respond as soon as you can. Once the deadline passes, the card shows "This invite has expired" and you can no longer accept it.

If you're still interested in an expired invitation, contact support and the team can send you a new one.

Connect Discord first

You need a linked and verified Discord account before you can accept an invitation. If yours isn't linked, your pending invites are covered by a Connect Your Discord Account message; if we can't find you in our Discord server, you'll see Discord Verification Failed instead. Select Connect Discord (or Re-verify Discord) and follow the steps, then come back to accept. See Connect your Discord account.

Accepting an invitation

1. On the invitation card, select Accept.
2. If the project has terms and conditions, a Terms and Conditions dialog opens. Read the terms and tick every consent checkbox; Accept and Join only becomes available once all of them are ticked. Your acknowledgment is recorded.
3. If the project has no terms, a short Accept Invite confirmation appears instead. Select Accept to confirm.

You're now a confirmed member of the project. It moves to your Active Projects, and you'll start getting access to the project's tools and resources (see Working in production).

If all spots are filled

Some projects have a limited number of seats. If they've all been taken, you'll see All spots have been filled when you select Accept, before you're shown any terms. You can choose:

• Join the waitlist: the project appears under On the Waitlist on your Projects page, with a note that it's full right now. If a spot opens up, you'll be invited again. Any announcements the project team sends to the waitlist are shown there too.
• No, thanks: the invitation is withdrawn.

Closing the dialog without choosing leaves your invitation pending. If the last spot goes while you're reading the terms, you'll get the same choice when you accept, or a message that you've already been placed on the waitlist.

Withdrawing from an invitation

If you don't want to join, you can withdraw from the invitation:

1. On the invitation card, select Withdraw.
2. A confirmation dialog appears. You can optionally tell us why, which helps us send you better-matched invitations in future.
3. Confirm by selecting Withdraw.

Withdrawing is not a penalty

As the dialog notes, you can be re-invited later, and it doesn't affect your standing on the platform or future opportunities.

What happens next

After you accept, your project appears under Active Projects with a Confirmed participation badge. Most projects start with a training period called bootcamp before real work begins, and the project page shows your current stage. Watch your email and the project's Discord channel for next steps.
