Joining as Service Partner talent
Read this if a Service Partner invited you to work on an SME Careers project. It explains how to sign in, verify your Discord, and find your projects.
If a Service Partner invited you from their talent pool to work on an SME Careers project, you get a streamlined account. You don't apply for jobs or take an interview here. You sign in, verify your Discord account, and work on the projects you've been assigned to.
Signing in
Your Service Partner invites you by email with a temporary password. Sign in with it and set your own password when prompted. After signing in you land on your Projects page.
Your account has just two areas in the sidebar:
- Profile, where you verify Discord and manage your password
- Projects, where you accept invitations and see your assigned projects
You won't see jobs, applications, referrals, or earnings pages. Those are for public candidates, and your Service Partner handles that side for you.
Verifying your Discord account
Project communication happens on Discord, so you need to verify your Discord account before you can join a project. Open Profile → Onboarding:
- Select Verify Discord to connect through Discord's own sign-in.
- If that doesn't work, choose Couldn't verify? Verify Discord manually and follow the two steps: join the SME Careers Discord server, then enter your Discord User ID. The page shows you how to find your ID and includes a short video walkthrough. Your User ID is a number with 17 to 19 digits, not your username.
Once verified, you'll see your Discord ID and a Verified badge. If you switch to a different Discord account later, you can update it from the same place.
Discord unlocks project accessRegistering gets you into the server. You're added to a project's channels only once you're assigned to that project, so channel access appears after you accept.
Finding and accepting projects
Your Projects page shows:
- Pending Invites: invitations to join a project. Review each one and Accept or Withdraw. You need your Discord verified before you can accept, and invitations can expire, so respond promptly.
- On the Waitlist: projects whose spots filled up before you accepted. If you accept an invite and every spot is already taken, you're asked whether to Join the waitlist or say No, thanks. If a spot opens up, you'll be invited again.
- Active Projects: the projects you've joined and are working on.
If you don't see anything yet, you'll be prompted to complete your profile or told that invites will appear here when they're available.
Managing your password
Under Profile → Account you can change your password. Choose a strong one you don't use on other sites.
