What SME Careers is

SME Careers connects subject matter experts with paid AI training work. Companies building AI models need people with real domain expertise (in medicine, law, engineering, languages, and many other fields) to train and evaluate those models. This is where you apply, interview, join projects, and get paid for that work.

There are two ways to take part:

• Subject matter expert: use your domain expertise to train and evaluate frontier AI models, and get paid for it.
• Network Referrer: share opportunities with your professional network and earn commission for each expert you refer.

How the journey works

1. Create an account. Sign up with your email and verify it. See Creating your account.
2. Apply. Complete the application form and upload your CV. See Applying as a data trainer.
3. Browse jobs and apply. Find open roles that match your expertise. See Browsing and applying to jobs.
4. Take the AI interview. This is a recorded, AI-assisted interview you can take from home at a time that suits you. See Taking the AI interview.
5. Get reviewed. Your interview is evaluated, and a human is involved in every final decision. See Interview results and retakes.
6. Screening and onboarding. Once you qualify, our team reviews your profile and prepares your contract. See The screening process.
7. Join a project and get paid. Accept a project invitation, complete any required training, start working, and receive regular payouts.

Where everything lives

Once you're signed in, the main areas you'll use are:

• Dashboard: your starting point and overview.
• Applications: every job you've applied to and where it stands.
• Projects: project invitations and the projects you're working on.
• Finance: your earnings and payout history.
• Referrals: refer other experts and track your referral rewards.
• Settings: your profile, skills, experience, preferences, and account security.
