Creating your account

Sign up

Go to the sign-up page and fill in the Create your account form.
Enter your Email. Use an address you check regularly, since all updates about your application go there.
Choose a Password. It must be at least 8 characters and include an uppercase letter, a lowercase letter, a number, and a special character, with no leading or trailing spaces.
Re-enter it under Confirm Password.
Optionally tick "I want to receive updates about opportunities and projects." if you'd like to hear about new roles by email.
Select Sign up.

By creating an account you agree to the Privacy Policy, which is linked on the sign-up page.

If you already have an account, use the Sign In link at the bottom of the form instead.

Sign up or sign in with LinkedIn

You can also Continue with LinkedIn instead of creating a password. Select it on the sign-up or sign-in page, authorise SME Careers in LinkedIn's own window, and you're brought straight back in — no separate email verification step. You can use LinkedIn every time, or set a password later and use either.

I've used LinkedIn before, or already have an account with this email

Your LinkedIn and email/password sign-ins share the same account, so you won't end up with duplicates:

If you signed up with LinkedIn and now want a password, use Forgot password to set one, then sign in with your email either way.
If you try to create an email/password account with an address that's already linked to LinkedIn, we send you a password-reset code instead of a new verification code — set your password with it and sign in.

Verify your email

After signing up you're taken to the Verify Email page, and a 6-digit verification code is sent to your email address.

Open the email and find the code.
Enter the 6-digit verification code on the page.
Once verified, you'll see "Email verified successfully" and can continue.

Didn't get the code?

Check your spam or junk folder.
- Use the Send again link to request a new code. You can request a new code once every 2 minutes.
- If you see "Your account is already confirmed", your email is already verified, so just sign in.

Signing in later

A new password if your account requires a password change on first sign-in.
A 6-digit code from your authenticator app if you've enabled two-factor authentication.

Forgot your password?

Use the Forgot password link on the sign-in page. You'll receive a verification code by email, then you can set a new password that meets the same requirements as above.

What happens next

With your email verified, you'll choose how you want to take part, as a subject matter expert or a network referrer, and then complete your application.
