Understanding your application status

Read this whenever you're unsure what a status on your Applications page means or what should happen next.

Where to look

Your Applications page shows a card for each job you've applied to. Each card has a status badge and a progress stepper with four steps: Pending → Retake → Under Review → Qualified (or Archived if the application is closed).

ArchivedThe application is closed and no longer progressing.See below for common reasons. In some cases a Retake Interview option is still offered.

Why applications get archived

An application can be archived for several reasons:

  • Interview not passed: the interview (or its review) wasn't successful and no attempts remain.
  • Withdrawn: you asked to withdraw from the role.
  • Duplicate: the application duplicated another one of yours.
  • Other: for example, the role itself was closed.
📘

One archived role doesn't affect the rest

Being archived for one role doesn't close your account or affect other applications. You can still apply and interview for other open roles.

The "Retake" step in the stepper

The stepper includes a Retake step between Pending and Under Review. Not everyone passes through it. It becomes active only if a retake was required. If you passed first time, it's marked as part of the completed path.

When there's no action button

When no button is shown, an info tooltip on the card explains why: your interview is under review, you've used all attempts, or the job is no longer available. See Interview results and retakes for the full list.

What happens next

Whenever a status changes you'll be notified (if Application updates notifications are on in your Preferences). Check this page any time you're unsure what a card means.
